"Almost reluctant to say just how great this venue is - We want to guarantee spaces when we next want to book in. The room and wider house was modern and spotless. Enthralling view of the Mournes enhanced by the rolling landscaped garden. Patricia and John were the perfect hosts. The home-made granola was gorgeous! One of Newcastle's best kept secrets - but don't go telling everyone about it."

“My girlfriend and I stayed there over Easter for a weekend. It was lovely, very quiet, close to town and very very beautiful in the accommodation. The couple that own the place are very nice people too and they were happy to answer every question we had about the area and the accommodation. Definitely a 10/10 location

“I booked a room in this B&B for a 2-day walking holiday in the Mourne mountains. It is a family home and newly-open to guests. The couple who run it are very friendly and made me feel very much at home. The room was very comfortable and clean, with a great shower - a joy when returning from tramping around the mountains! Ask for the 'garden' (back) bedroom, which has a fabulous view of the garden and the mountains behind. Breakfast was a 'full Ulster Fry', but do try the home-made granola, and home-baked scones - gorgeous!
It's a little out of town, but the plus part of this is that it is in a quiet country location.
The photo does not do the place justice.”

“Superb with great views. Wonderfully modern accommodation in a beautifully tranquil setting. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming throughout. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a peaceful and relaxing break at the base of the Mournes, yet close to Newcastle for convenience. Breakfast was really tasty, home made quality!”

“This is a wonderful new build home , bright and airy . Patricia could not have been more welcoming .
Lovely breakfast , including fresh, warm wheaten scones. First class accommodation.”

“Beautiful garden, friendly family and peaceful place. A 15 minute walk from the beach and Newcastle. Perfect. Brand new guest house. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. The room was lovely and comfortable. The location is perfect to access the Newcastle beach but very quiet. A special mention to the beautiful garden with stunning view on the mountains. Would definitely recommend the Cheryhill Lodge.”

"It was wonderful. The hosts are lovely people. I stayed in the self-catering house, which was very nice. Because I had purchased Bed and Breakfast - I ate breakfast with included home baking and a wonderful omelette. Highly recommended."

"Beautiful house on outskirts of Newcastle. John & Patricia were very welcoming to their wonderful home. Views from the room were stunning. Would have liked to stay a few days. Great breakfast too."

"My fiancé and I stayed at Cherryhill on the 2nd March and we had a fantastic time!

"The owners could not have been more welcoming and tentative while we were there. The room(s) were spacious, clean and every appliance you would need was provided. The setting of the lodge is beautiful, set in the foothills of the Mournes, and just on the edge of Newcastle town.
Breakfast was lovely, with fresh homemade wheaten on offer as long with a big selection of foods.
I would highly recommend this lodge for couples wanting a cheeky break away, for hikers who can set off into the Mournes, and generally for anyone really!
Will definitely be back!!"

"I had the absolute pleasure of staying for eleven nights during which time I was actually working nights.I will keep this review simple, nothing, and I mean nothing was too much trouble, breakfast was delicious, lovely, very well appointed rooms, peaceful, beautiful surroundings. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I cannot recommend Cherryhill Lodge highly enough."

"A lovely set of rooms, modern yet homey. All the utilities were highly organised and easy to find and use. Lots of information about the surrounding area was provided. Very high level of cleanliness."

"Myself and my partner planned to stay at Cherryhill Lodge for two nights over Easter 2013. We had such a nice relaxing two nights that we contacted the owner who allowed us to stay on for an extra night and extend our stay. We were greeted by the owners son who was extremely polite. Milk, butter, scones, wheaten bread and jam left in apartment for us arriving. We will definitely be back and have recommended to friends!"
